Product Information

The 1997 quarter is a standard issue United States quarter, minted in Denver, and its design is consistent with that of most quarters from that era. The obverse side of the 1961 quarter features a left-facing portrait of President George Washington. Above his portrait is the word "LIBERTY," and below it is the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST." The coin's date, is located at the bottom. The reverse side of the quarter displays an eagle with outstretched wings, perched on a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. Above the eagle are the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and below the eagle is the coin's denomination, "QUARTER DOLLAR.  The quarter has a diameter of 24.26 millimeters (0.955 inches) and is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. Its total weight is approximately 6.25 grams. This coin was part of the era when U.S. quarters still contained a significant amount of silver, making it a collectible item for numismatists and those interested in American coinage history.
