 Jackson was nicknamed "Mr. October" for his clutch hitting in the post season with the Athletics and the Yankees. American League West divisional pennants, three consecutiveAmerican League pennantsWorld SeriestitlesAmerican League East divisional pennants, three American League pennants and two consecutive World Series titles, from 1977 to 1981. He also helped the California Angelswin two American League West divisional pennants in 1982 and 1986. He is perhaps best remembered for hitting three consecutive home runs in the clinching game of the 1977 World Series.
 
These 2014 $1 Baseball Hall of Fame Silver coins have an MS70 grade from the Professional Coin Grading Service. A Mint State 70 grade indicates a coin that was perfectly struck by the mint. The “P” mint mark identifies the coin as a product of the Philadelphia Mint. The Reggie Jackson label includes his player name, and authenticated signature, and comes sealed inside the coin’s packaging.  Only 110 coins have been graded Mint State 70!

 

On the obverse side of each coin is the image of an open baseball glove. Inside the palm of the mitt are the engravings “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and “2014.” The reverse side of the coin features a 3D depiction of a baseball, with engravings “United States of America” and “E Pluribus Unum.” The 3D curvature on the coin is the first-ever design of its kind on a coin from the United States Mint.
