In 1993, the United States Mint issued a special commemorative coin to honor the 200th anniversary of the Bill of Rights. The coin, a silver dollar proof coin, was minted in honor of the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, which were ratified on December 15, 1791.

The obverse of the coin features a portrait of James Madison, the principal author of the Bill of Rights, along with the inscriptions "Liberty", "In God We Trust", and the year of issue, 1993. The reverse of the coin features an image of the torch of liberty surrounded by the text "Bill of Rights", "United States of America", and "E Pluribus Unum".

The 1993 Bill of Rights commemorative silver dollar proof coin is made of 90% silver and 10% copper, with a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams. It has a limited mintage of 645,126 coins and is considered a highly collectible piece of American numismatic history.
