Product Information

The Eisenhower dollar was a one-dollar coin issued by the United States Mint from 1971 to 1978. It featured a portrait of President Dwight D. Eisenhower on the obverse side and an eagle landing on the moon on the reverse side, commemorating the Apollo 11 moon landing. The coin was minted in both copper-nickel and silver varieties, though the silver coins were only issued for collectors and were not intended for circulation. The Eisenhower dollar was the first dollar coin minted by the US since the Peace dollar was last issued in 1935.
