Franklin half dollars are a coin minted by the United States from 1948 to 1963. They feature the portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The coins were designed by John R. Sinnock and were created to replace the Walking Liberty half dollar design.

Franklin half dollars are composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, giving them a total silver content of 0.3617 troy ounces. They have a diameter of 30.6mm and a weight of 12.5 grams.

These coins were minted at three different locations: Philadelphia (no mintmark), Denver (D mark), and San Francisco (S mark). The Philadelphia mint produced the most coins, followed by Denver and San Francisco.
