Product Information

NGC graded MS66, 1943 Lincoln Cent minted in San Francisco.

The Lincoln Wheat Penny, which was produced by the United States Mint from 1909 to 1958. The name "Wheat Cent" comes from the design of two stalks of wheat on the reverse of the coin, framing the words "ONE CENT" and the "E Pluribus Unum" motto.

The front of the coin features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, and the reverse design with the wheat stalks makes these coins easily recognizable and popular among collectors

The 1943 steel cent is a notable coin in American numismatics, primarily because it was produced during World War II when copper was needed for the war effort. The U.S. Mint decided to create this penny out of zinc-coated steel instead of bronze, resulting in a distinctive appearance. At first glance, the 1943 steel cent is recognizable by its silvery color, which is a stark contrast to the traditional copper cents.
