Being offered is a attractive example of an almost uncirculated 1889 Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar.  Exhibiting very light wear on the eagle's breast and lightest hairlines, this would make an exciting addition to any Morgan dollar collection.  After being closed for four years, the Carson City Mint resumed coining operations in late 1889. 100,000 Morgan dollars were struck there in October and November, and 150,000 were struck in December. It appears that a majority of these made their way to the melting pot, making these even rarer than the low mintage suggests. Today, they tend to be found in circulated condition and often have issues such as cleaning or damage.  It is estimated that less than 26,000 examples exist in any grade.
