Product Information

The Bust dime, officially known as the Draped Bust dime, was minted in the United States from 1796 to 1837. Designed by Robert Scott, the coin features a depiction of Liberty wearing a draped bust on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse. The coins were struck in 89.24% silver and were a significant part of early American coinage. The Draped Bust design reflects the neoclassical art style popular during the early 19th century. Variations of the design exist, including the earlier version (1796-1797) with a smaller eagle and the later version (1800-1837) with a larger, more detailed eagle. Bust dimes are highly sought after by numismatists today, with certain dates and mint marks commanding high premiums due to their rarity and historical context.
